The principal interest of Q.M.G. 7 in medals and badges was in relation to the provision ribands and ribbons for the former. They were also the authority on how and in which order medals, badges and decorations were worn on Army uniforms.
Until the issue of A.O. 434/1922 in November 1922 Q.M.G. 7 was responsible for the supply of Wound Strips and Chevrons (plus instructions on the wearing of Silver War Badges). The Army Order announced the cancellation of the wearing of Silver War Badges, Wound Stripes and Chevrons showing service overseas.
